Research on Internet capacities of environmental NGOs in Serbia and Montenegro
As a part of initial project activities the research was conducted through a series of representative interviews / questionnaires. 45 representative NGOs was interviewed in Serbia and Montenegro (Tab. 1). Analyses of Internet capacities of envrionmental NGOs in Serbia and Montenegro represents a basis for continuing of this project. The same research was made in every REReP beneficiary country. According to these information the document "Needs assessment" was prepared http://www.rec.org/REC/Programs/SEE Networking, while chapter related to Serbia and Montenegro can be taken in electronic form (EN-NVO-YU.pdf).
Forming of NGO Steering Committee
In order to increase transparency and quality of the project the NGO Steering Committee was founded. It follows and directs project activities. Members of the Steering Committee are representatives of NGO network coalitions or national NGO representatives in cases when there is no network in the country. Serbia and Montenegro representative in the Committee is Ms. Jelena Beronja (misvss@EUnet.yu).
Invitation for participation
By information network of REC CO in Serbia and Montenegro (electronic way, bulletin) invitation for expression of interest for participation, foundation or development of NGO electronic network in the SEE countries. During the specified time, 29 NGOs have expressed their interest, while 6 more NGOs sent letters after the deadline. Among them 16 NGOs were interviewed before (Tab. 2).
Preparatory meeting
Informative meeting of potential partners for project implementation in Serbia and Montenegro was held because of the beginning of the second project phase in the REC CO in Yugoslavia, on October 17, 2001. (Details).
Basic computer trainings
Tree basic-level computer training courses were organized in the following periods:
29.05-01.06.2002 (Basic office skills),
28.06-01.07.2002 (Basic office skills),
30.08-02.09.2002 (Office skills)

Advance-level training course
Advance-level training course in the form of the web workshop was organised. (Details).
National Electronic NGO meeting
The first National meeting took place on the December 7th 2002, in the Hotel M-Best Western in Belgrade, gathering representatives from 60 environmental NGOs from the region. Participants were introduced with experience of other El. NGO Networks from the neighboring countries (Bulgaria and Romania) and at the same time they had an opportunity to influence further realization of the project. (Details).
